New Delhi : A total of 58,439 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 72,59,509 at 8 am on October 28, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (6,10,803) by a massive margin of 64,48,706. The country, however, also recorded 43,893 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 79,90,322. The country had recorded 36,470 new COVID-19 cases on October 27, 2020. The number of active cases was 7.64% of the total cases (79,90,322) on October 28, 2020.
Of the 79,90,322 COVID-19 cases recorded till date, altogether 72,59,509 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 90.85%. India has tested 10,54,87,680 samples so far including 10,66,786 samples on October 27, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,20,010 on October 28, 2020, with 508 new deaths being reported across the country during last 24 hours including 115 from Maharashtra, 58 from West Bengal, 44 from Delhi, 44 from Karnataka, 36 from Uttar Pradesh, 27 from Tamilnadu, 24 from Kerala, 20 from Chhattisgarh, 19 from Andhra Pradesh, 14 from Rajasthan, 13 from Haryana, 13 from Punjab, 8 from Madhya Pradesh, 7 from Bihar, 7 from J&K,6 from Uttarakhand, 6 from Manipur, 5 from Gujarat, and 4 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.50% in the country on October 28, 2020.
