New Delhi : The number of COVID-19 patients getting cured/discharged reached 25,23,771 in India at 8 am on August 27, 2020, registering an increase of 56,013 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases by 17,97,780. A total of 63,173 COVID patients were declared cured in the country the previous day. India has reported 33,10,234 COVID-19 cases till date of which 25,23,771 (76.24%) patients have been declared cured.
The number of active cases in the country was 7,25,991 (21.93%) on August 27, 2020. A total of 3,85,76,510 COVID-19 samples have been tested in the country till date including 9,24,998 on August 26, 2020.
Altogether 5,22,427 patients have been declared cured in Maharashtra, 3,38,060 in Tamilnadu, 2,86,720 in Andhra Pradesh, 2,11,688 in Karnataka, 1,48,897 in Delhi, and 1,48,562 in UP till date, according to Union Health Ministry.
The COVID death toll in the country jumped to 60,472 on August 27, 2020, with 1,023 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 295 from Maharashtra, 133 from Karnataka, 118 from Tamilnadu, 81 from Andhra Pradesh, 90 from UP, 55 from West Bengal, 41 from Punjab, 17 from Gujarat, 17 from MP, and 17 from Delhi. The Case Fatality Rate has dropped to 1.83% in the country, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on August 27, 2020, is : Maharashtra (23,089), Tamilnadu (6,839), Delhi (4,347), Karnataka (5,091), Gujarat (2,945), Andhra Pradesh (3,541), Uttar Pradesh (3,149), West Bengal (2,964), Madhya Pradesh (1,282), Rajasthan (992), Punjab (1,219), Telengana (788), J&K (657), Haryana (634), Bihar (530), Odisha (441), Jharkhand (362), Assam (274), Uttarakhand (219), Kerala (257), Chhattisgarh (231), Puducherry (180), Goa (165), Tripura (85), Chandigarh (41), Andaman & Nicobar (41), Himachal Pradesh (32), Ladakh (25), Manipur (25), Nagaland (9), Meghalaya (8), Arunachal Pradesh (5), Sikkim (3), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
As far Bihar figure goes, according to State Health Department, the COVID death toll was 653 in the state on August 26, 2020.
