New Delhi : Altogether 55,331 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 77,11,809 at 8 am on November 5, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (5,27,962) by a huge margin of 71,83,847. The country also reported 50,210 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 83,64,086. The number of active cases in India on November 5, 2020, was 6.31% of the total cases ( 83,64,086) recorded till date, a drop of 5,825 cases. India had recorded 46,253 new COVID-19 cases on November 4, 2020.

Of the 83,64,086 COVID-19 cases recorded so far in the country, a total of 77,11,809 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 92.20%. The country has tested 11,42,08,384 samples so far including 12,09,425 samples on November 4, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry sources.

The COVID-19 toll jumped to 1,24,315 on November 5, 2020, with 704 new deaths being reported reported from different States /UTs during last 24 hours including 300 from Maharashtra, 55 from West Bengal, 51 from Delhi, 50 from Chhattisgarh, 34 from Karnataka, 30 from Tamilnadu, 28 from Kerala, 19 from Haryana, 15 from Uttar Pradesh, 14 from Punjab, 13 from Madhya Pradesh, 12 from Odisha, 11 from Himachal Pradesh, 10 from Andhra Pradesh, 9 from Rajasthan, 9 from J&K, 6 from Gujarat, 5 from Bihar, and 3 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.49% in the country on November 5, 2020. India had recorded 514 new deaths on November 4, 2020.
