545 bottles of IMFL liquor seized in Rohtas

Sasaram: Rohtas police, on a tip off, conducted raid in Shivganj locality near Amla Talaab under Rohtas Muffassil police station on Thursday and seized 545 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 225 pouches of countrymade liquor though the people involved in the trade managed escape.

Praveen Kumar, Sub-inspector (SI), Rohtas Muffassil police station said that he got information that liquor mafia had brought liquor in huge quantity in the district and hidden the consignment in Shivganj locality so immediately conducted raid in the locality on Thursday evening and seized liquor kept under the heap of stone chips. He said that the countrymade liquor was manufactured in Jharkhand. He said that in view of continuous drive against liquor, the liquor mafia has adopted new methods for smuggling liquor from Utter Pradesh and Jharkhand into Rohtas district. They bring liquor in trains or luxury cars to be sold in different parts of Rohtas district.
