New Delhi : A total of 53,480 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,21,49,335 cases in the country at 8 am on March 31, 2021. India had recorded 56,211 Covid-19 cases on March 30, 2021. On the positive side, a total of 41,280 Covid-19 patients were declared cured in last 24 hours taking the tally to to 1,14,34,301 in the country on March 31, 2021.
The active cases (5,52,566) on March 31, 2021, accounted for 4.55% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,21,49,335) recorded so far India, an increase of 11,846 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 24,36,72,940 samples so far including 10,22,915 samples on March 30, 2021. Meanwhile, 6,30,54,353 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 19,40,999 beneficiaries on March 30, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients dropped to 94.11% in India on March 31, 2021, from 94.19% on March 30, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 toll surged to 1,62,468 in India on March 31, 2021, with 354 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 139 in Maharashtra, 64 in Punjab, 35 in Chhattisgarh, 21 in Karnataka, 16 in Kerala, 16 in Tamilnadu, 10 in Gujarat, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, 6 in Himachal Pradesh, 4 in Haryana, 4 in Delhi, 3 in Jharkhand, 3 in Andhra Pradesh, 2 in West Bengal, and 1 in Bihar. India had recorded 271 new deaths on March 30, 2021.
