New Delhi : A total of 53,476 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours, the highest since October 17, 2020, taking the tally to 1,17,87,534 cases in the country at 8 am on March 25, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 26,490 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country taking the tally to 1,12,31,650 on March 25, 2021.  The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients dropped to 95.28% on March 25 from 95.49% on March 24, 2021.

The active cases (3,95,192) on March 25, 2021, accounted for 3.35% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,17,87,534) , an increase of 26,735 cases in the country in last 24 hours. India has tested 23,75,03,882 samples so far including 10,65,021 samples on March 24, 2021. Meanwhile, 5,31,45,709 persons have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India including 23,03,305 beneficiaries on March 24, 2021.

The Covid-19 climbed to 1,60,692 in India on March 25, 2021, with 251 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 95 in Maharashtra, 39 in Punjab, 29 in Chhattisgarh, 12 in Karnataka, 12 in Tamilnadu, 10 in Kerala, 8 in Gujarat, 7 in Madhya Pradesh, 6 in Delhi, 6 in Haryana, 5 in Uttar Pradesh, 4 in Telengana, 4 in Andhra Pradesh, 2 in West Bengal, 2 in Jharkhand, 2 in Bihar, and 1 in Rajasthan. India had recorded 275 new deaths on March 24, 2021. The case fatality rate dropped to 1.36% in India on March 25, 2021.
