Hajipur (Vaishali): Two members of an inter-district gang of thieves were arrested by Mahnar police (Vaishali) on Saturday evening from two different places. Police also recovered two stolen bikes, three laptops, camera, CCTV camera, three transistors besides equipment used for stealing goods, said Mahnar police station SHO Abhay Kumar Singh on Sunday.
Singh said that a police team, on a tip off, carried out raids at Lawapur Chowk and behind a local cinema hall and arrested two persons from there. He said that a day before, he had carried out raid at Mohiuddinnagar in neighbouring Samastipur district and arrested a member of the gang Mithilesh Kumar from there and recovered a stolen bike from his possession.
The SHO said that two of recovered bikes were stolen from Jandaha and Patori in Vaishali district recently. He said that members of the gang used to steal vehicles from their respective districts and then used to transfer the stolen vehicles to each other. Raids are on to arrest other members of the gang, the SHO added.
