Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) :  Five school students including a  girl were injured  in a road accident on November 30, 2017, morning after a Maruti van dashed an auto ferrying more than one dozen students on Grand trunk road  near Guru Nanak school at Kumardhubi, about 57 km away from Dhanbad city. The accident took place around  7.30 am. The condition of two  students is reported to be serious. They are under treatment at a private nursing home at Kumardhubi.

The seriously injured students have been identified as Aditya Singh, 12, a Standard VII of Loyala high school, and Nisha Singh, 11, a standard V student of Saint Mary school. As per Chirkunda police, an auto carrying 12 school students being driven by Anil Kumar was going towards Chirkunda to drop the students to their schools when a Maruti van carrying four  persons and coming  from opposite direction in very high speed lost control at a road curve and dashed against the  auto which turned turtle.

Seeing the injuries  of the school students, four persons seated in the van left their vehicle on road and escaped fearing  public fury who had started rushing to the spot. The locals rescued several students crying for help. All the five injured  were rushed to local nursing home where three suffering minor injuries were  released after first aid. Chirkunda police has seized both the vehicles and brought them over to the police station.
