Patna : Five persons including a woman and her 15 year old daughter died as portion of a dilapidated building collapsed in Panchmohalla locality of Jehanabad Town in Bihar on December 26, 2018, evening. Of the five, three were crushed to death on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries at different hospitals. The building was undergoing repair. Jehanabad DM has announced an ex-gratia of Rs four lakh to the next of the kin of each deceased. According to Jehanabad DM  Alok Ranjan Ghosh, the mishap took place in Panchmohalla locality of the Jehanabad town.

Bodies of Gayatri Devi and her 15-year-old daughter Twinkle Kumari, besides a motorcyclist Arvind Kumar, were recovered from the debris by police. A fruit vendor Ram Vinay succumbed to injuries at a local hospital while one Vaidyanath Thakur, who was passing through the street, was rushed to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Sub Divisional Officer (SDO), Jehanabad, Paritosh Kumar. Yadu Nandan Thakur, who also suffered injuries in the mishap, is admitted to PMCH, according to SDO Kumar.
