New Delhi : The huge jump in the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured continues in India reaching 13,78,105 at 8 am on August 7, 2020, an increase of 49,769 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases in the country by 7,70,721. The number of active cases stands at 6,07,384 in India.

COVID-19 death toll in India, on the other hand, climbed t0 40,585 on August 7 with 886 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 316 from Maharashtra, 110 from Tamilnadu, 93 from Karnataka, 72 from Andhra Pradesh, 61 from Uttar Pradesh (UP), 56 from West Bengal,  27 from Gujarat, 26 from Punjab, and 15 from Delhi, according to GoI sources.

The Coronavirus death toll break-up in India on August 7, 2020, is : Maharashtra (16,792),Tamilnadu (4,571), Delhi (4,059), Gujarat (2,583), Karnataka (2,897), Uttar Pradesh (1,918), West Bengal (1,902), Andhra Pradesh (1,753), Madhya Pradesh (946), Rajasthan (757), Telengana (601), Punjab (517), Haryana (458), J&K (436), Bihar (363), Odisha (235), Jharkhand (145), Assam (126), Uttarakhand (98), Kerala (97),  Chhattisgarh (77), Puducherry (70), Goa (66), Tripura (36), Chandigarh (20), Himachal Pradesh (14), Andaman & Nicobar (16), Manipur (8), Ladakh (7), Nagaland (6), Meghalaya (5), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu( 2), and Sikkim (1). According to sources in Health Department, Bihar Government, the death toll in the state was 388 on August 6, 2020.

As far COVID patients getting cured goes, in Maharashtra 3,16,375 patients have been cured till date followed by 2,21,087 in Tamilnadu, 1,27,124 in Delhi, 1,12,870 in Andhra Pradesh, 80,281 in Karnataka, 63,402 in UP, 61,023 in West Bengal, 50,350 in Gujarat, 43,537 in Bihar, 37,224 in Assam, 35,131 in Rajasthan, 32,640 in Haryana, 26,902 in MP, and 15,708  in J&K.
