New Delhi : Altogether 49,082 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 78,68,968 at 8 am on November 8, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (5,12,665) by massive margin of 73,56,303. The country, on the other hand, also recorded 45,674 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 85,07,754. The number active cases was 6.03% of the total cases recorded so far on November 8, 2020, a drop of 3,967 cases.

Of the 85,07,754 COVID-19 cases recorded so far in the country, a total of 78,68,968 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 92.49%. India has tested 11,77,36,791 samples so far including 11,94,487 samples on November 7, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry data..

The COVID-19 toll jumped to 1,26,121 in India on November 8, 2020, with 559 new deaths being recorded in last 24 hours including 150 from Maharashtra, 79 from Delhi, 58 from West Bengal, 28 from Kerala, 25 from Uttar Pradesh, 25 from Tamilnadu, 22 from Chhattisgarh, 22 from Karnataka, 17 from Odisha, 17 from Haryana, 15 from Punjab, 13 from Madhya Pradesh, 13 from Rajasthan, 11 from Andhra Pradesh, 10 from Himachal Pradesh, 7 from Bihar, 7 from Uttarakhand, and 5 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.48% in the country on November 8, 2020. India had recorded 577 new deaths the previous day.
