New Delhi : The phenomenal increase in the number of COVID-19 patients continues in India reaching 14,27,005 at 8 am on August 8, 2020, an increase of 48,900 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number active cases by 8,07,917. The number of active cases stands at 6,19,088 as on August 8, 2020.
On the negative side, COVID death toll has surged to 42,518 in India with 933 new deaths including 300 from Maharashtra, 119 from Tamilnadu, 101 from Karnataka, 89 from Andhra Pradesh, 63 from Uttar Pradesh (U), 52 from West Bengal, 23 from Delhi, and 22 from Gujarat. The COVID death crossed hundred mark in both Uttarakhand and Kerala, accoring to Union Health Ministry sources..

As far Bihar figure goes, according to Bihar Government, the COVID death toll had reached 400 in the state on August 7, 2020.
As far COVID patients getting cured goes, in Maharashtra 3,27,281 patients have been cured till date followed by 2,27,575 in Tamilnadu, 1,28,232 in Delhi, 1,20,464 in Andhra Pradesh, 84,232 in Karnataka, 66,834 in UP, 63,060 in West Bengal, 51,720 in Gujarat, 38,809 in Assam, 36,195 in Rajasthan, 33,444 in Haryana, 27,621 in MP, and 16,218 in J&K.
