New Delhi : The huge increase in the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured continues in India reaching 15,43,489 at 8 am on August 11, 2020, an increase of 47,746 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases by 9,43,560. A total of 54,859 COVID patients were declared cured the previous day.

COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, jumped to 45,257 in India with 871 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 293 from Maharashtra, 114 from Tamilnadu, 114 from Karnataka, 80 from Andhra Pradesh, 51 from UP, and 41 from West Bengal, according to Union Health Ministry sources.

The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on August 11, 2020, is : Maharashtra (18,050),Tamilnadu (5,041), Delhi (4,131), Karnataka (3,312), Gujarat (2,672), Uttar Pradesh (2,120), West Bengal (2,100), Andhra Pradesh (2,116), Madhya Pradesh (1,015), Rajasthan (800), Telengana (645), Punjab (604), Haryana (489), J&K (478), Bihar (397), Odisha (286), Jharkhand (188), Assam (151), Uttarakhand (134), Kerala (115),  Chhattisgarh (99), Puducherry (89), Goa (80), Tripura (43), Chandigarh (25),  Andaman & Nicobar (20), Himachal Pradesh (17), Manipur (11), Ladakh (9), Nagaland (8), Meghalaya (6), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu( 2), and Sikkim (1). As far Bihar figure goes, according to the State Government, the COVID death toll had reached 450 in the state on August 10, 2020.

Altogether 3,58,421 COVID patients have been declared cured till date in Maharashtra followed by 2,44,675 in Tamilnadu, 1,31,657 in Delhi, 99,126 in Karnataka, 76,724 in UP, 70,328 in West Bengal, and 59,374 in Telengana.
