Muzaffarpur: Fourtyfive students of Katurba Gandhi Girls’ Residential School, Bochaha, in Muzaffarpur district, fell ill on October 3, 2016, after taking contaminated food at hostel. Two teachers and a warden have also fallen ill and are under treatment.

Fourteen of the 45 girls were admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, while the remaining girls were admitted to different private hospitals or clinics. District Programme Officer (DPO), Neeta Pandey, has remains present at SKMCH since October 3. It may be mentioned here that three girls of the same school had fallen ill on October 1 after consuming unsafe drinking water but were not taken to hospital till they fainted.
