New Delhi : After a gap of several days, India recorded more new COVID-19 cases on November 20, 2020, than the number of patients declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours. Altogether 44,807 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours in the country taking the tally to 84,28,409 at 8 am on November 20, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (4,43,794) by a massive margin of 79,84,615.
The country, however, also recorded 45,882 new cases during last 20 hours taking the tally to 90,04,365 on November 20. The number of active cases was 4.93 % of the total cases on November 20, 2020, a drop of 491 cases.
Of the 90,04,365 COVID-19 cases recorded till date in the country, altogether 84,28,409 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 93.60%. India has tested 12,95,91,786 samples till date including 10,83,397 samples on November 20, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,32,162 on November 20, 2020, with 584 new deaths being recorded during last 24 hours including 154 from Maharashtra, 98 from Delhi, 53 from West Bengal, 39 from Uttar Pradesh, 26 from Karnataka, 26 from Chhattisgarh, 26 from Kerala, 20 from Haryana, 19 from Tamilnadu, 17 from Odisha, 15 from Punjab, 15 from Rajasthan, 14 from Madhya Pradesh, 13 from Himachal Pradesh, 11 from Andhra Pradesh, 8 from Bihar, 7 from Gujarat, and 3 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.47% in the country on November 20, 2020. India had recorded 585 new deaths on November 19, 2020.
