New Delhi : For the second consecutive day, the Covid-19 cases recorded in India during last 24 hours outpaced the number of new recoveries. A total of 44,489 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the country during last 24 hours taking the tally to 92,66,705 at 8 am on November 26, 2020. In sharp contrast, only 36,367 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in the country during last 24 hours taking the tally to 86,79,138 at 8 am on November 26, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (4,52,344) by a huge margin of  82,26,794.

Of the 92,66,705 Covid-19 cases recorded till date in the country, altogether 86,79,138 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 93.66%. India has tested 13,59,31,545 samples so far including 10,90,238 samples on November 25, 2020. The number of active cases on November 26, 2020, was 4.88% of the total cases recorded so far in the country, an addition of 7,598 cases during last 24 hours.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,35,223 in India on November 26 with 524 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 99 from Delhi, 65 from Maharashtra, 51 from West Bengal, 42 from Haryana, 31 from Punjab, 29 from Uttar Pradesh, 26 from Kerala, 19 from Karnataka, 18 from Rajasthan, 16 from Tamilnadu, 16 from Chhattisgarh, 16 from Odisha, 14 from Gujarat, 14 from Madhya Pradesh, 13 from Himachal Pradesh, 12 from J&K, 12 from Uttarakhand, 6 from Andhra Pradesh, 4 from Bihar, and 3 from Jharkhand.  The Case Fatality Rate was 1.46% in the country on November 26, 2020, India had recorded 481 new deaths on November 25, 2020.
