New Delhi : The huge surge in the number of COVID-19 patient getting cured continues in India reaching 12,30,509 at 8 am on August 4, 2020, an increase of 44,306 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases by 6,44,211. The number of active cases in the country stands at 5,86,298. It was 5,79,357 on August 3, 2020.

The Coronavirus death toll jumped to 38,938 in India with 803 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 266 from Maharashtra, 109 from Tamilnadu, 98 from Karnataka, 63 from Andhra Pradesh, 48 from UP, 53 from West Bengal,  23 from Telengana, 22 from Gujarat, 19 from Punjab, and 17 from Delhi.

The Coronavirus death toll break-up in India is : Maharashtra (15,842), Delhi (4,021), Tamilnadu (4,241), Gujarat (2,508), Karnataka (2,594), Uttar Pradesh (1,778), West Bengal (1,731), Andhra Pradesh ( 1,537), Madhya Pradesh (900), Rajasthan (715), Telengana (563), Haryana (440), Punjab (442), J&K (407), Bihar (330), Odisha (207), Jharkhand (125), Assam (109), Uttarakhand (90), Kerala (84),  Chhattisgarh (61), Puducherry (56), Goa (56), Tripura (28), Chandigarh (19), Himachal Pradesh (14), Andaman & Nicobar (10), Ladakh (7), Manipur (7), Meghalaya (5), Nagaland (5), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu( 2), and Sikkim (1).

As far COVID patients getting cured goes, in Maharashtra 2,87,030 patients have been cured till date followed by 2,02,283 in Tamilnadu, 1,24,254 in Delhi, 88,672 in Andhra Pradesh, 62,500 in Karnataka, 55,393 in UP, 54,818 in West Bengal, 47,478 in Gujarat, 38,228 in Bihar, 33,428 in Assam, 31,458 in Rajasthan, 30,470 in Haryana, 24,099 in MP, and 14,032 in J&K, according to GoI sources.
