New Delhi : Altogether 43,851 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 82,49,579 at 8 am on November 16, 2020, exceeding the numbervof active cases ( 4,65,478) by a gigantic margin of 77,84,101. India, on the other hand, also recorded 30,548 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 88,45,127 on November 15, 2020. The number of active cases was 5.26% of the total cases (88,45,127) recorded till date in the country, a drop of 13,738 cases during last 24 hours.
Of the 88,45,127 COVID-19 cases recorded so far in the country, a total of 82,49,579 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 93.27%. India has tested 12,56,98,525 samples till date including 8,61,706 samples on November 15, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll increased to 1.30,070 on November 16, 2020, with 435 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 95 from Delhi, 60 from Maharashtra, 51 from West Bengal, 30 from Punjab, 21 from Karnataka, 21 from Kerala, 18 from Uttar Pradesh, 17 from Odisha, 16 from Chhattisgarh, 14 from Andhra Pradesh, 12 from Tamilnadu, 11 from Himachal Pradesh, 10 from Rajasthan, 9 from J&K, 8 from Haryana, 7 from Madhya Pradesh, 6 from Gujarat, 5 from Bihar, 5 from Uttarakhand, and 2 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.47% in the country on November 16, 2020. India had recorded 447 new deaths the previous day.
