New Delhi : For the second time in last three days, the new COVID-19 cases outpaced the number of recoveries in India during last 24 hours on November 22, 2020. A total of 43,493 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours in the country taking the tally to 85,21,617 at 8 am on November 22 exceeding the number of active cases (4,40,962) by a huge margin of 8080,655.

The country, however, also recorded 45,209 new Covid-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 90,95,806 at 8 am on November 22. The number of active cases was 4.85% of the total cases recorded in the country till date, a drop of 1,215 cases during last 24 hours.

Of the 90,95,806  Covid-19 cases recorded so far, altogether 85,21,617 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 93.69%. India has tested 13,17,33,134 samples so far including 10,75,326 samples on November 21, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,33,227 in India on November 22, 2020, with 501 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 111 from Delhi, 62 from Maharashtra, 53 from West Bengal, 25 from Haryana, 25 from Kerala, 24 from Uttar Pradesh, 23 from Punjab, 22 from Chhattisgarh, 20 from Karnataka, 18 from Tamilnadu, 18 from Himachal Pradesh, 17 from Odisha, 16 from Rajasthan,  11 from Madhya Pradesh, 7 from Andhra Pradesh, 6 from Jharkhand, and 4 from Bihar. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.46% in the country on November 22, 2020. India had recorded 564 new deaths on November 21, 2020.
