New Delhi : A total of 42,916 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 90,16,289 at 8 am on December 4, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 4,16,082) by a huge margin of 86,00,207. The country, on the other hand, also recorded 36,595 new Covid-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 95,71,559 cases recorded so far on December 4, 2020. The number of active cases was 4.35% of the total cases on December 4, 2020, a further drop of 6,861 cases.

Of the 95,71,559 Covid-19 cases recorded till date in the country, altogether 90,16,289 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 94.20% on December 4, 2020. India has tested 14,47,27,749 samples so far including 11,70,102 samples on December 3, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,39,188 on December 4, 2020, with 540 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 115 from Maharashtra, 82 from Delhi, 49 from West Bengal, 32 from Haryana, 31 from Uttar Pradesh, 31 from Kerala, 22 from Chhattisgarh, 20 from Punjab, 20 from Rajasthan, 18 from Himachal Pradesh, 14 from Tamilnadu, 13 from Gujarat, 13 from Karnataka, 13 from Madhya Pradesh, 12 from Uttarakhand, 11 from Andhra Pradesh, 7 from Bihar,and  6 from Jharkhand.  The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 4, 2020.  India had recorded 526  new deaths on December 3.

COVID-19 death toll in India on December 4, 2020, is : Maharashtra (47,472), Tamilnadu (11,747), Karnataka (11,821), Delhi (9,424), Andhra Pradesh (7,014), Uttar Pradesh (7,848), West Bengal (8,576), Gujarat (4,031), Madhya Pradesh (3,300), Rajasthan (2,370),  Punjab (4,862), Telengana (1,467), J&K (1,718), Haryana (2,520), Bihar (1,281), Odisha (1,755), Jharkhand (977), Assam (985), Uttarakhand (1,263), Kerala (2,329), Chhattisgarh (2,941), Puducherry (613), Goa (696), Tripura (372), Chandigarh (284),  Andaman & Nicobar (61), Himachal Pradesh (695), Ladakh (119), Manipur (294), Nagaland (64), Meghalaya (116), Arunachal Pradesh (54), Sikkim (111), Mizoram (6), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
