New Delhi : Altogether 41,970 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours in India taking the tally to 91,00,792 in the country at 8 am on December 6, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (4,03,248) by a massive margin of 86,97,544. The country, on the other hand, also recorded 36,011 new COvid-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 96,44,222 cases recorded so far. The number of active cases was 4.18% of the total Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, a drop of 6,441 cases during last 24 hours.
Of the 96,44,222 Covid-19 cases recorded till date in the country, a total of 91,00,792 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 94.37%. India has tested 14,69,86,575 samples so far including 11,01,063 samples on December 5, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,40,182 on December 6, 2020, with 482 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 95 from Maharashtra, 77 from Delhi, 49 from West Bengal, 32 from Kerala, 25 from Haryana, 24 from Punjab, 23 from Uttar Pradesh, 21 from Chhattisgarh, 20 from Rajasthan, 15 from Gujafrat, 15 from Tamilnadu, 13 from Himachal Pradesh, 12 from J&K, 12 from Madhya Pradesh, 12 from Karnataka, 8 from Uttarakhand, 5 from Odisha, 5 from Bihar, 4 from Andhra Pradesh, and 4 from Manipur. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 6, 2020. India had recorded 512 new deaths on December 5, 2020.
