New Delhi : A total of 40,791 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 82,90,370 at 8 am on November 17, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 4,53,401) by a colossal margin of 78,36,969. The country, on the other hand, also recorded 29,163 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 88,74,290. The number of active cases was 5.11% of the total cases recorded till date, a drop of 12,077 cases during last 24 hours.
Of the 88,74,290 COVID-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 82,90,370 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 93.42%. The country has tested 12,65,42,907 samples so far including 8,44,382 samples on November 16, 2020.
The COVID-19 climbed to 1,30,519 in India on November 17, 2020, with 449 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 99 from Delhi, 60 from Maharashtra, 53 from West Bengal, 39 from Uttar Pradesh, 26 from Chhattisgarh, 22 from Punjab, 19 from Haryana, 19 from Kerala, 17 from Tamilnadu, 16 from Odisha, 13 from Andhra Pradesh, 12 from Karnataka,12 from Rajasthan, 8 from Himachal Pradesh, 8 from J&K, 5 from Gujarat, 5 from Bihar, Mizoram (5), 4 from Jharkhand, and 2 from Madhya Pradesh. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.47% in the country on November 17, 2020. India had recorded 435 new deaths on November 16, 2020.
