New Delhi : The phenomenal increase in the number of COVID-19 patients declared cured continues in India reaching 11,86,203 at 8 am on August 3, 2020, an increase of 40,574 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases by 6,06,846. The number of active cases in the country stands at 5,79,357.

The COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, has climbed to 38,135 in India with 771 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 260 from Maharashtra, 98 from Tamilnadu, 84 from Karnataka, 67 from Andhra Pradesh,  53 from UP, 49 from West Bengal, 22 from Gujarat, and 15 from Delhi.

The Coronavirus death toll break-up in India is : Maharashtra (15,576), Delhi (4,004), Tamilnadu (4,132), Gujarat (2,486), Karnataka (2,496), Uttar Pradesh (1,730), West Bengal (1,678), Andhra Pradesh ( 1,474), Madhya Pradesh (886), Rajasthan (703), Telengana (540), Haryana (433), Punjab (423), J&K (396), Bihar (329), Odisha (197), Jharkhand (118), Assam (105), Uttarakhand (86), Kerala (82),  Chhattisgarh (58), Puducherry (52), Goa (53), Tripura (27), Chandigarh (19), Himachal Pradesh (14), Andaman & Nicobar (8), Ladakh (7), Manipur (7), Meghalaya (5), Nagaland (5), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu( 2), and Sikkim (1).

As far COVID patients getting cured goes, in Maharashtra 2,76,809 patients have been cured till date followed by 1,96,483 in Tamilnadu, 1,23,317 in Delhi, 82,886 in Andhra Pradesh, 57,725 in Karnataka, 53,168 in UP, 52,730 in West Bengal, 36,389 in Bihar, 32,384 in Assam, and 29,690 in Haryana.
