Patna :NRDF jawans from Bihta (Patna), who were airlifted to Godda (Bihar-Jharkhand border) on December 30 morning recovered bodies of 7 coalminers from the Bhoday dip open cast mines of Eastern Coalfield Limited (ECL). Over 40 miners are feared trapped in the mines which caved in during the wee hours on Friday.
Five of the miners, whose bodies were recovered are from Siwan in Bihar. Directorate general of mines safety Rahul Guha has started probe into the disaster. Miners are trapped 300 metres under debris which destroyed 35 dumpers and dredging machines too.
Jharkhand CM Raghuwar Das talked to union mines and coal minister Piyush Goel and assured him of fast rescue and relief operations.
