Ranchi ( Jharkhand) : Four Naxalites including two women were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Palamu district in Jharkhand on February 26, 2018, morning. The encounter took place at 8 am during which the CRPF cops shot dead 4 naxalites including its two Sub-zonal commander and two naxal female associates after they opened fire on a CRPF team on ashort search operation at village arudag village under Chatarpur police station in Palamu district, 125 km away from Jharkhand capital Ranchi.
The deceased were identified as Sub-zonal commanders: Rakesh Bhuiyan and Lallu Yadav, s Ruby Kumari and Rinki Kumari.
According to CRPF IG Sanjay Anand Latekar, a senior IPS of Jharkhand cadre, the CRPF got an information that 20 Maoists were holding meeting at Malanga Pahad in Palamu after which a team comprising more than two dozen CRPF men went for patrolling in the zone. Seeing the cops, naxalites started firing after which CRPF men retaliated and the encounter continued for 29 minutes after which naxalites escaped leaving behind 4 bodies.
Two self loading rifles besides 218 rounds of cartridges and 8 mobile phones were also seized by the force.
