Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raids at Dharmdas Dihari and Dilia villages under Tarari police station on March 16, 2019, and seized 1,227 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) kept in a Bolero and also underground.

Police arrested two liquor smugglers : Pappu Singh, son of Binod Yadav, and Govinda Singh, son of Shivpur Yadav of village Gangar under Agiao Bazaar police station, in this connection. A named FIR was lodged with Tarari police station under Prohibition & Excise Act against the arrested liquor smugglers and later they were sent to jail after interrogation.

Police also seized 225 packets of IMFL from near the bank of river Ganga at Khwaspur under Barhara police station on and arrested two liquor smugglers including Deepak Singh of Krishnagarh.

SHO, Barhara police station, Dilip Kumar said that he had received information that some IMFL was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh via river Ganga. He immediately started search on the banks of the river Ganga and arrested two liquor smugglers along with IMFL.
