Patna : Six personsĀ  including five women and a child were killed and several others injured in two separate accidents in Siwan and Begusarai districts in North Bihar on February 2, 2018.
In the first incident, four persons including three women and a child were killed after they fell down from a railway bridge. They were crossing the bridge over river Daha on foot to reach Siwan Kutchery railway station, according to Siwan DM Mahendra Kumar.

The deceased were residents of Kuchaikot police station in the neighbouring Gopalganj district j and were approaching the railway station to catch a train back home, he said. But, they probably panicked when they saw Siwan-Gorakhpur passenger train approaching and jumped to save their lives only to get killed, according to sources.

According to the DM said, another person, who was seriously injured, was referred to Patna Medical College Hospital. The deceased were identified as Khushboo Nishan, Jhuni Khatoon, Saraswati Devi and Munna, a child. The injured was identified as Aslam Ansari, according the DM.

According to Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, Sanjay Yadav, “The driver of the train gave a message on reaching the next station confirming that none of the persons walking on the bridge were run over.”

In another incident, a man and a woman, in their 40s, were killed and six persons injured, when a three-wheeler carrying them collided head-on with a truck under Teghra police station in Begusarai district, according to police. The man was identified as Suresh Sah, a native of village Jagdar under Veerpur police station, police said, adding, the identity of the deceased woman was yet to be established. The injured were sent to a hospital, police said. The three-wheeler and truck were seized but the truck driver escaped after the accident.
