Gopalganj: A Thawe Government Rail Police (GRP) team on December 26 searched the bogies of a passenger train and seized 4 kg charas worth Rs 14 lakh in international market concealed in an abandoned black bag from a bogie. Though the police inquired from the passengers about the owner of the bag, they failed to locate him.

Eyewitnesses said that as a passenger train (55008) coming from Gorakhpur to Patliputra Station, Patna, reached Thawe station, a GRP team led by in-charge SHO Arun Deo Rai started searching the bogies of the train. The cops saw a black bag in one of the bogies and when they opened the bag, they found charas inside it. Though the cops were inquiring from the passengers, the train left Thawe station. GRP sources said that it seems that the seized narcotic was being smuggled from Nepal via Kaptanganj to Patna.
