4 feared drowned as boat capsizes in river Ganga in Patna

Patna : Four women were feared drowned after a boat carrying nine members of a family capsized in river Ganga under Fartuha police station in rural Patna on January 31, 2018. Five other persons including  two men and three women were rescued and admitted to nearby hospital.

The boat was carrying members of a family based in Gaya district, who had come here to take a holy dip on the occasion of Magh Purnima, said SHO, Fatuha Police station in Patnadistrict, Naseem Ahmed. The incident took place at Fatuha around 10 am under Fatuha police station area. Efforts were on to trace the missing persons, police said.

Bihar Government has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those killed in the incident.
