4 criminals carrying Carbine loot Rs 20 lakh from SBI branch in Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur : Four bike armed criminals carrying Carbine and other sophisticated arms looted Rs 20 lakh cash from Chandrahathi branch of SBI under Kurhni police station in Muzaffarpur district on June 5, 2018, afternoon, and escaped unchallenged brandishing their firearms.

According to eyewitnessess, the four criminals entered the bank premises at 1 pm on June 5 riding two Apache Motorcycles with their faces covered. They entered the bank and asked all the customers present there to stand aside and locked the officials and employees in a room. After that they entered the Strong Room where the cash was kept. They asked the bank employees present there to stop work and thereafter looted Rs 20 lakh cash.

Branch Manager, SBI, Chandrahathi Branch, Priya said that it appears the criminals looted Rs 20 lakh. The cash is being tallied and the looted amount might even go up, she said.

City SP, Muzaffarpur, reached there after getting information and spoke to bank officials and employees about the incident.
