4 children die due to cold diarrhoea in Muzaffarpur, several ill

Muzaffarpur : Cold Diarrhoea is raging in Muzaffarpur district for the last few days. Four children have died due to cold diarrhoea in Muzaffarpur district during the last two days while 125 sick children have been admitted to a private hospital at Muzaffarpur for treatment.

Altogether 240 children suffering from cold diarrhoea were treated at Out Patient Department (OPD) of Sadar Hospital, Muzaffarpur, while over 300 children were treated at Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur.

Civil Surgeon Dr Lalita Singh said that a 100 bed three storey ‘Mother Child Care Ward’ is under construction at Sadar Hospital, Muzafarpur, at an estimated cost of Rs 32 crore. A Mother Child Care Ward is also under construction at SKMCH, said the Civil Surgeon.
