New Delhi : Altogether 39,045 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 91,78,946 in the country at 8 am on December 8, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (3,83,866) by a stupendous margin of 87,95,080.
India also recorded 26,567 new Covid-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 97,03,770 cases recorded till date in the country. The number of active cases was 3.96% of the total cases recorded so far in the country, a drop of 12,863 cases during last 24 hours.
Of the 97,03,770 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, a total of 91,78,946 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 94.59%. India has tested 14,88,14,055 samples till date including 10,26,399 samples on December 7, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,40,958 in India on December 8, 2020, with 385 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 63 from Delhi, 48 from West Bengal, 40 from Maharashtra, 23 from Haryana, 23 from Kerala, 21 from Chhattisgarh, 20 from Uttar Pradesh, 19 from Rajasthan, 18 from Punjab, 16 from Tamilnadu, 14 from Gujarat, 11 from Karnataka, 10 from Madhya Pradesh, 10 from Uttarakhand, 9 from J&K, 7 from Odisha, 7 from Himachal Pradesh, 5 from Andhra Pradesh, 2 from Jharkhand, and 2 from Bihar. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 8, 2020.
