New Delhi : The number of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients is fast rising in India reaching 36,823 including 7,688 in Maharshtra at 8 am on May 18, 2020, an increase of 2,715 since the last update issued by Union H & FW Ministry on May 17, 2020. Coronavirus death toll too has jumped to 3,029 in the country, an increase of 157 since May 17. Maharashtra alone accounts for 1,198 deaths followed by Gujarat with 659 deaths.

Globally, Coronavirus death toll surged to 89,542 due to community transmission in USA on May 18, 2020, followed by UK with 34,716 deaths. Italy has reported 31,908 deaths till date.
