New Delhi : A total of 36,635 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours in India taking the tally 92,15,581 at 8 am on December 9, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 3,78,909) by a huge margin of 88,36,672.
The country, on the other hand, also recorded 32,080 new Covid-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 97,35,850 cases on December 9, 2020. The number of active cases was 3.89% of the total cases recorded in the country so far, a drop of 4,957 cases during last 24 hours on December 9.
Of the 97,35,850 Covid-19 cases recorded in the country, altogether 92,15,581 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 94.66%. India has tested 14,98,36,767 samples so far including 10,22,712 samples on December 8, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,41,360 on December 9, 2020, with 402 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 57 from Delhi, 53 from Maharashtra, 49 from West Bengal, 31 from Kerala, 30 from Punjab, 23 from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from Rajasthan, 15 from Chhattisgarh, 15 from Gujarat, 14 from Himachal Pradesh, 13 from Haryana, 13 from Tamilnadu, 13 from Karnataka, 12 from Uttarakhand, 11 from Madhya Pradesh, 6 from J&K, 6 from Odisha, 4 from Andhra Pradesh, and 3 from Bihar. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 9, 2020. India had recorded 385 new deaths on December 8, 2020.
