New Delhi : A total of 3,26,850 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours in India, up from 3,02,544 the previous day, taking the tally of patients cured so far to 2,40,54,861 at 8 am on May 25, 2021. In sharp contrast, a total of 1,96,427 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours, for the first time in last 40 days, taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 2,69,48,874 in the country on May 25, 2021. The country had logged 2,22,315 new Covid-19 cases on May b24, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 89.26% in India on May 25 from 88.69% on May 24, 2021.
Active cases further dropped to 25,86,782 in India on May 25, 2021, a huge drop of 1,33,934 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 9.60% of the total Covid-19 cases (2,69,48,874) recorded in the country till date. The country has tested 33,25,94,176 samples so far including 20,58,112 samples on May 24, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 19,85,38,999 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country so far including 24,30,236 beneficiaries on May 24, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 death toll rose to 3,07,231 in India on May 25, 2021, with 3,511 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours. The 3,511 new deaths included 592 in Maharashtra, 529 in Karnataka, 404 in Tamilnadu, 207 in Delhi, 196 in Kerala, 187 in Punjab, 153 in Uttar Pradesh, 153 in West Bengal, 122 in Uttarakhand, 103 in Rajasthan, 96 in Andhra Pradesh, 93 in Bihar, 84 in Assam, 60 in Chhattisgarh, 60 in Madhya Pradesh, 45 in J&K, 45 in Gujarat, 38 in Goa, 33 in Jharkhand, 24 in Meghalaya, and 21 in Telengana. India had recorded 4,454 new deaths on May 24, 2021. The case fatality rate remained pegged at 1.14% in India on May 25, 2021.
