319 cartons of foreign liquor, Rs 4 lakh cash seized in Vaishali

Hajipur : Police seized 319 cartons of foreign liquor worth Rs 5 lakh from a container at a village under Vaishali police station in Vaishali district on April 1, 2017, night. Police also arrested four persons including the person who had come to receive the consignment.

When contacted, Additional SP, Vaishali, Rashid Zama, said that police also seized Rs 4 lakh cash from the possession of the person who had come to receive the consignment. Apart from seizing the Container, police seized a Bolero, a Scorpio and an Apache motorcycle, Additional SP Zama said adding police were investigating into the matter.

Excise Superintendent, Vaishali, Arvind Kumar, said the Excise department sleuths had seized 2,000 litres of foreign liquor from a container under Mahua police station in the district on March 30, 2017.The container was seized, he said.
