Muzaffarpur : An Excise and Prohibition Department team of Muzaffarpur seized 300 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs one crore and arrested three persons in this connection after November 26, 2017, midnight, under Motipur polie station area in Muzaffarpur district.
Excise Superintendent Deen Bandhu said that a truck carrying the liquor from Haryana, and six four wheelers including an Scorpio and a Swift Dezire were also seized by the Excise team. He said a raid was conducted in Motipur police station area after an information was received that liquor worth about Rs one crore had been brought from Haryana.
Three Hundred cartons of foreign liquor, which were being offloaded from a truck bearing Haryana number plate for being carried in six four-wheelers, were seized, Deen Bandhu said. Of the three persons arrested, one was the owner of Swift Dezire, a local resident. Deen Bandhu said that a ‘ press’ sticker was found pasted on the Scorpio.
