3 women down to death as boat capsizes in Bagmati, 13 missing

Samastipur : Three women drowned to death in river Bagmati after the boat carrying them across the river to village Ratras from Dharmpur Ghat, Rosera, under Hathouri police station in Samastipur district suddenly capsized on November 5, 2017, allegedly due to overloading.

Thirteen other passengers on the boat are missing while four others including Arvind Pal and Ranju Kumari were rescued by the villagers and were admitted to private hospitals in an unconcious state. The deceased were identified as Rita Devi, Poonam Devi and Nagina Devi. There were 20 passengers on the boat. The local administration has pressed into service divers to rescue the missing 13 persons.
