Samastipur : Bihar government has suspended three Police Inspectors in connection with Tajpur incident in which a youth Jitendra Malakar was killed in firing on October 20, 2017. The three Police Inspectors suspended on November 2, 2017, are : Anil Kumar, Hari Mohan Prasad and Subodh Chaudhary. SHO, Tajpur police station, Khushbuddin , was suspended soon after the incident.

All these four police officials were on duty when a mob protesting the murder of a medicine shop owner Janardan Thakur had attacked the police station and set ablaze police vehicles. Police had denied that the youth had been killed in police firing but the deceased’s brother had lodged a case alleging his brother was killed in police firing.

The three Inspectors have been suspended after submission of inquiry report by Commissioner, Tirhut Division, H R Sriniwas, and DIG, Darbhanga, Vinod Kumar. CM Nitish Kumar had ordered an inquiry into the incident.
