3-day workshop on ‘ Panchayati Raj Administration- Execution & Challenges’

Ara : District and Sessions Judge, Ara, Amrendra Pati Tripathi, and Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Praveen Kumar Dwivedi, jointly inaugurated a three- day workshop on “Panchayati Raj Administration—Execution and Challenges” on February 15, 2019, on the campus of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ara. The workshop has been organized jointly by the Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, Antyoday Chetana Mandal, and Rajendra Memorial Trust for Rural Development.

District Panchayati Raj Officer (DPRO), Bhojpur, Girijesh Kumar, DDM, Nabard, Ranjeet Kumar Sinha, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Sunita Kumari, Secretary, Ara Bar Association, Rajesh Kumar Pandey alias Pappu Ji, Programme Officer, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, Ajit Rai and others were present on the occasion. Ram Nath Thakur and Kranti Bahan conducted the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, DJ Tripathi said that Panchayati Raj is must today because general people are devoid of the benefits of several welfare schemes of the government and these benefits could reach through the Panchayati Raj administration. He  said that the judicial system is limited to the boundaries of the courts. He said that it is now duty of every person to cooperate in the panchayati raj system. It would also benefit the judicial system, he said and added hat the Panchayati raj system would reduce burden on courts as small cases should be solved and decided at village level.

DPRO, Girijesh Kumar, said that after 73^rd amendment of the Indian constitution in the year 1993, the Panchayati Raj got constitutional recognition and now the three- tier panchayat raj election is conducted in Bihar under Bihar Panchayati Raj Amendment Act, 2006.
