3 criminals arrested with 3 dozen stolen mobile phones in Saharsa

Saharsa : Saharsa police have busted a gang of mobile phone thieves and arrested three members of the gang including its kingpin Shankar Pandit, who hails from Varanasi in UP. Police also seized three dozen stolen mobile phones from the possession of arrested criminals.

DSP ( Headquarters), Saharsa, Ganpati Thakur, on March 10, 2017, said that raids were on to arrest other members of the gang. DSP Thakur said that activities of mobile phone thieves and snatchers had increased during pat few months at Saharsa hence a team was formed to bust the gang involved in it. The members of the team first arrested a member of the gang Mohd Harun from Sitanabad under Simri Bakhtiyarpur police station in Saharsa district and on his revelation another member of the gang Rahul Kumar was arrested from Nayanagar tola of village Patuaha under Saharsa Sadar police station while Shankar Pandit was arrested from Sarahi colony under Sadar police station.

DSP Thakur said that police seized 34 mobile phones, 19 earphones, 17 chargers, an air pistol and a power bank from the of possession of Shankar Pandit, who was taken a part of Sarahi house of Mohd Mansoor Alam on rent and running the racket from there for the past few months. Shankar Pandit had first shifted to Begusarai from Varanasi and later on shifted to Saharsa.
