Ara : Three criminals : Buddhu alias Deepak Yadav, Monu Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav surrendered before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ara, on March 18, 2017, for allegedly firing on Chandan Kumar, son of a petrol pump owner Mohan Singh, on March 9, 2017. The court sent them to jail.
Police had already arrested two criminals in this connection on March 11, 2017. Police had arrested Sunil Yadav and Diwakar Kumar alias Bijay Kumar and also seized three countrymade pistols, eight 7.56 mm live cartridges, one .315 live cartridge, six mobiles, a Scorpio, 3 motorcycle and cloths from their possession.
Three motorcycle borne armed miscreants shot at and injured Chandan Kumar, son of petrol pump owner Mohan Singh, in Mahadeva Road locality under Town police station, Ara, in the afternoon on March 9, in a land dispute. A named FIR was lodged with Town police station on March 10 on the statement of Mohan Singh against five persons: Monu Yadav, son of Awadh Bihari Singh, Havildar in BMP 14, Maula Bagh locality under Town police station, Sunil Yadav, son Dhaneshwar Yadav of Mahavir Tola locality under Town police station, Akhilesh Yadav, son of Sudesh Yadav of Maulabagh locality, Diwakar Kumar alias Bijay Kumar, son of Vaidyanath Singh of Madan Ji Ka Hata under Town police station and Bhuddu alias Deepak, son of Vishwanath Yadav of Mahavir Tola.
Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that after the institution of FIR, he formed a police team under the ASP (operations) Md Sajid which conducted raids at the houses of Monu Yadav and Bhuddu Yadav and arrested Sunil Yadav. Police also arrested Monu’s father Awadh Bihari Singh, a BMP Havildar, and his brother Golu, and also seized 13 bottles of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). He said that Awadh Bihari Singh and Golu were arrested under Excise Act and were forwarded to jail. MSohan Singh’s petrol pump is located near Shaeed Bhavan, Ara.
The SP said Sunil Yadav confessed that Monu Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav and he had gone to kill Chandan Kumar alias Pillu and shot at him and injured. He also said that they tried to escape on a Scorpio after the incident. The SP said that all the five were also responsible for firing on Deputy Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC), Basant Singh, two students at Ramana Maidan, at Baba Gas Agency, Pakari, and at Ara Medical Store, Shivganj.
