Ara : Majority of the police stations in Bhojpurd district will be equipped with latest technology and gadgets to facilitate the people lodge FIR online from June 2017 onward. All the police stations will have their own website and will also be made online under CCTNS system and computer operators will be appointed for the purpose. All the necessary equipment have been provided to the police stations.

With the help of Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks Systems (CCTNS), apart from the lodged FIRs, details of criminals operating under the police station concerned, their statements, details of criminal activities will also become online. A person wishing to lodge an FIR online will have to apply for the purpose and will have to present physically at the police station.

Bhojpur district has 29 police stations and 7 additional police stations but only 28 police stations will be get online in the first phase. All these police stations have been provided with printers, computers, dongles and the NIC is preparing website for each police stations separately. All the records will be online with on click on this website. One police station and seven additional police station will become online in the second phase.

Bhojpur district has been divided into three police sub-divisions and seven circles. Ara Sadar police sub-division comprises Ara Town police station, Nawada police station, Muffassil police station, Barhara police station, Koelwar police station, Chandi police station, Sandesh police station, Pawana police station, Garhani police station and Udwantnagar police station while the Piro police sub-division comprises Charpokhari police station, Agiawa Bazaar police station, Piro police station, Sikarhatta police station, Imadpur police station, Tarai police station, Chauri police station, Narainpur police station, Sahar police station and Azimabad police station. Jagdishpur police sub-division includes Ayar police station, Jagdishpur police station, Dhangai police station, Shahpur police station and Bihia police station.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that all the police stations will be made online and start working from the second week of June 2017. Every police station has its own website containing details of the police stations, criminals and crimes. The office of the DM has given permission for appointment of computer operator at every police station.

The SP further said that Cyber Crime Cell will also be established in Bhojpur district on the line of District Intelligent Unit (DIU). All necessary equipment and furniture have been provided. This cell will work from confidential section of the police department and look into the cyber crimes in Bhojpur district.

The SP said that it was decided to put online all the records from 2007 to 2017 related to criminals, crimes, cases and FIRs. He added that at least 500 FIRs are lodged every month in Bhojpur district of which maximum numbers of FIRs are lodged with  Ara Town and Nawada police station. The SP said that after the police stations become online, people will find it easier getting information about the progress of the cases.
