New Delhi : A total of 26,624 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,00,31,223 at 8 am on December 20, 2020. On the other hand, 29,690 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 95,80,402 on December 20, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 3,05,344) by a gigantic margin of 92,75,058. The number of active cases in India on December 20, 2020, was 3.04% of the total cases recorded till date in the country, a drop of 3,407 cases in last 24 hours..
Of the 1,00,31,223 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 95,80,402 patients have been declared cure with the recovery rate (RR) being 95.51%. India has tested 16,11,98,195 samples till date including 11,07,681 samples on December 19, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,45,477 in India on December 20, 2020, with 341 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 74 from Maharashtra, 43 from West Bengal, 32 from Delhi, 29 from Kerala,23 from Uttar Pradesh, 19 from Punjab, 15 from Karnataka, 15 from Madhya Pradesh, 14 from Tamilnadu, 13 from Haryana, 9 from Rajasthan, 9 from Chhattisgarh, 9 from Uttarakhand, 7 from Gujarat, 6 from Bihar,4 from Andhra Pradesh, and 2 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 20, 2020. India had recorded 347 new deaths on December 19, 2020.
