New Delhi : A total of 26,291 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in last 24 hours in India, the highest single day detection in last 86 days, taking the tally to 1,13,85,339 cases in the country at 8 am on March 15, 2021. In sharp contrast, only 17,455 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,10,07,352 on Mafrch 15, 2021.
The active cases (2,19,262) accounted for 1.93% of the total cases (1,13,85,339) on March 15, 2021, an increase of 8,718 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 22,74,07,413 samples so far including 7,03,772 samples on March 14, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 2,99,08,038 persons have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 1,40,880 beneficiaries on March 14, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 dropped to 96.68% in India on March 15, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,58,725 in India on March 15, 2021, with 118 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 50 in Maharashtra, 20 in Punhab, 15 in Kerala, 4 in Chhattisgarh, 4 in Tamilnadu, 4 in West Bengal, 3 in Karnataka, 2 in Delhi, 2 in Gujarat, 2 in Andhra Pradesh, 2 in Madhya Pradesh, 1 in Uttar Pradesh, 1 in Bihar, 1 in Haryana, and 1 in Rajasthan. India had recorded 161 new deaths on March 14, 2021.The case fatality rate dropped to 1.39% in India on March 15, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
