Patna : The Covid-19 recorded in Bihar rose to 2,56,419 on January 9, 2021, afternoon, as 493 more persons including 233 from Patna, 19 from Rohtas, 17 each from Gopalganj, Begusarai, and Vaishali, and 14 from Gaya tested positive for the pandemic on January 8, 2021.

According to State Health Department figure, 1 persons each from Muzaffarpur and Nalanda, 11 each from Aurangabad and Lakhisarai, 10 from Siwan, 9 from East Champaran, 8 from Kaimur, 7 dach from Khagaria, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, and Saran, 6 each from Katihar and Sheohar, 5 each from Bhagalpur, Saharsa, and Purnia, and 4 each from Bhojpur, Buxar, and Sitamarhi, also tested positive for Covid-19 on January 8, 2021.

Of the 2,56,419 Covid-19 ases recorded so far in Bihar, a total of 2,50,858 patients have been declared cured including 411 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.83%. The number of active cases in Bihar was 4,130 on January 9, 2021. Bihar has tested 1,91,80,737 samples so far including 98,319 samples on January 8, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,430 in Bihar on January 9, 2021, with 2 new deaths being recorded in the state in last 24 hours including 1 each from Patna and Bhojpur. The toll increased to 394 in Patna on January 9, 2021.
