Patna : The Covid-19 cases recorded in Bihar rose to 2,53,934 on January 3, 2021, afternoon, as 282 more persons including 88 from Patna, 22 from Saran, and 17 from Nalanda, tested positive to the pandemic on January 2, 2021.

According to State Health Department data, 12 persons from Muzaffarpur, 11 from Bhagalpur, 10 from Saharsa, 9 each from Begusarai, Kaimur, and Darbhanga, 8 from Jehanabad, 7 each from Sitamarhi, Vaishali, and Madhubani, 6 each from Aurangabad, Banka, Gaya, and Rohtas, and 5 from Bhojpur, also tested positive to Covid-19 on January 2, 2021.

Of the 2,53,934 Covid-19 cases recorded in Bihar so far, altogether 2,48,210 patients have been declared cured including 631 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.75%. The number of active cases in Bihar was 4,318 on January 3, 2021. The state has tested 1,86,20,805 samples so far including 94,560 samples on January 2, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,402 in Bihar on January 3, 2021, with 2 new deaths bei ng recorded in the state in last 24 hours,  one each from Patna and Jehanabad. The toll climbed to 381 in Patna on January 3, 2021.
