Patna : The Covid-19 recorded so far in Bihar rose to 2,53,255 on January 1, 2021, afternoon, as 463 more persons including 237 from Patna, 23 from Muzaffarpur, 22 from Kaimur, and 14 from  Bhagalpur, tested positive to the pandemic on December 31, 2020.

According to State Health Department data, 10 persons each from Jehanabad and Vaishali, 9 each from Saran and Sitamarhi,  East Champaran, and Sheikhpura, 8 from Gaya, 7 each from Nalanda, Begusarai, and Katihar, 6 each from Banka, Munger, Rohtas, and Samastipur, and 5 each from Bhojpur and Lakhisarai, also tested positive to Covid-19 on December 31, 2020.

Of the 2,53,255 Covid-19 cases recorded in Bihar, a total of 2,47,089 patients have been declared cured including 404 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.57%. The number of active cases in Bihar was 4,765 on January 1, 2020. Bihar has tested 1,84,42,165 samples so far including 1,05,443 samples on December 31, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,400 in Bihar on January 1, 2021, with 3 new deaths being recorded in the state in last 24 hours including 1 each from Munger, Saran, and Siwan.
