New Delhi : A total of 24,337 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 1,00,55,560 at 8 am on December 21, 2020. On the other hand, 25,709 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in last 24 hours in the country taking the tally to 96,06,111 on December 21, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (3,03,639) by a gigantic margin of 93,02,472. The active cases accounted for 3.02% of the total Covid-19 cases on December 21, 2020, a drop of 1,705 cases in last 24 hours.
Of the 1,00,55,560 Covid-19 cases recorded till date in the country, altogether 96,06,111 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 95.53%. India has tested 16,20,98,329 samples so far including 9,00,134 samples on December 20, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,45,810 in India on December 21, 2020, with 333 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 98 in Maharashtra, 40 in West Bengal, 30 from Kerala, 26 in Delhi, 19 in Uttar Pradesh, 15 in Tamilnadu, 13 in Madhya Pradesh, 12 in Punjab, 9 in Chhattisgarh, 9 in Rajasthan, 7 in Gujarat, 5 in Karnataka, 5 in Bihar, 5 in Haryana, and 2 in Andhra Pradesh. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 21, 2020. India had recorded 341 new deaths on December 20, 2020.
