Patna : The Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar climbed to 2,49,336 on December 24, 2020, afternoon, as 668 more persons including 282 from Patna, 50 from Muzaffarpur, and 44 from Aurangabad, tested positive to the pandemic on December 23, 2020.
According to State Health Department data, 21 persons each from Katihar and Saran, 17 from Gaya, 14 from Jehanabad, 13 from Purnia, 12 each from Madhubani and Nawada, 11 from Kaimur, 10 each from Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Sheohar, and Siwan, 9 each from Vaishali and Nalanda, 8 each from Bhojpur, East Champaran, and Sahara, also tested positive to Covid-19 on December 23, 2020.
Of the 2,49,336 Covid-19 cases recorded till date in Bihar, altogether 242766 patients have declared cured/ discharged including 522 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.37%. The number of active cases in Bihar was 5,198 on December 24, 2020. Bihar has tested 1,75,71,979 samples so far including 1,18,228 samples on December 23, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,371 in Bihar on December 24, 2020, with 4 new deaths being recorded in the state in last 24 hours including one each from Siwan, Madhepura, Nalanda, and Purnia.
